Managing Partner + Founder

Blake Nash started Weddings By Blake in May 2013. After officiating hundreds of ceremonies, Blake added Event Planning and Coordination to his list of services. After time WBB evolved into Occasions Events & Design. Blake and the Occasions Team has planned and coordinated hundreds of events.

In 2020 Blake and OED merged with Michaelz Media to offer more services to their clients. Blake now serves as the Managing Partner of the new company.

Blake lives in Garland, Texas with his fiancé and their children, Sofia and Cruz. They have 3 dogs, enjoy traveling and going to the Texas Rangers games.

If Blake's not working a wedding you can find him at home reading a good book or spending time with his family and friends. 



Director of Operations + Founder

Brian Michaelz has been a part of the wedding and entertainment industry for many years. His love and passion for weddings was sparked when a dear friend asked Brian to officiate her wedding and he has never looked back.

He brings fresh and bright energy, passion, and professionalism to his work while customizing the perfect wedding ceremony for his couples. His philosophy is that the wedding ceremony is the heart and soul of your wedding. His ceremonies provide a natural expression of yourselves with a genuine reflection of everything that makes your union so unique and so very special. Brian Michaelz prides himself on working with couples of all religions, ages, and backgrounds.

In addition to officiating weddings, Michaelz is skilled in the fine art of music and entertainment. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Production and a Master’s in Entertainment Business, he has filled the dual role of Officiant and DJ for many wedding parties across the nation.  Originally building their audio-visual production company, Michaelz Media, Brian and TJ have been helping couples, corporate event planners, and party-goers since 2011. 

After moving back to Texas in 2015, Brian began working as an Officiant with Blake Nash.  By 2017, Brian had also introduced Blake to his wife, TJ.  So began the original relationship between the three.  In early 2020 negotiations began to merge Occasions Event and Design and Michaelz Media to become a one-stop-shop for events.  As the companies merged, Brian took on his new role as Owner and Director of Operations. He also handles the entertainment, disc jockeys, and audio-visual production for Occasions Event and Design. 

 When Brian Michaelz is not officiating ceremonies or spinning the tunes he enjoys spending time with his wife TJ, their twin boys Sean and Chet, chocolate Labrador Ruckus, traveling, entertaining, and much more. His wonderful disposition ensures that all of your guests will love him and your ceremony.


Director of Events

TJ’s love of organization and planning has followed her forever and always carried over into her work. Working as a project and office manager in the entertainment sector, she had the opportunity to plan conferences, concerts, and meetings for some of the most noted leaders, entertainers, and organizations in California, New Mexico, and Texas.

As a wedding and events planner, TJ has been able to hone in on her passion for helping clients create truly fantastic experiences. “There is nothing more satisfying than knowing my services made my clients’ day better.

TJ’s work has been featured multiple times on numerous blogs, social media platforms, The Knot, and Wedding Wire.



Office manager

Katie has been working with Blake and the Occasions team for almost 3 years now.  Katie was a guest at a former wedding Occasions planned and seeing that wedding come together sparked her interest in the wedding industry.  


Katie began her journey at Occasions as an Event Assistant and moved into a Senior Event Coordinator role. Katie married her husband James in 2019 and moved to Washington.  Katie has since taken on the role of Occasions Office Manager. She may not be able to be at the wedding but she is still able to make dreams come true, behind the scenes.
